Beautifully detailed pink and green enamel brooch with seed pearls to depict England's original wild rose: the briar rose.
Each flower is set with a central seed pearl to mimic the flower's pistil with a ring of tiny gold stamen around it. White and pink enamel and gold petals surround each seed pearl to form a rose. The roses are connected to a gold stem with green enamel leaves and three gold and enamel buds at the terminal. The reverse shows a generous use of gold and an 18 karat mark at the bottom of the stem.
