The carving is exceptional, with the central band of each bead with small diamond shaped facets and at either end of the bead which rests against the Rock Crystal Rondels, each long facet is concave! This is truly astounding Gem polishing and design, but this is one of the reasons why Mario Buccellati was a great jeweler.

Take a look at this beautiful diamond dog brooch; he has a ruby eye, and sports this wonderful collar that features an emerald. Two-Color Gold and Gem Set "Butterfly in Flight" Brooch by Tiffany & Co with 2 Pink and 1 Yellow Gold Wing, long antennae set with 2 Rubies and the head set with a Citrine and a Diamond. The Rubies and Diamond in Platinum topped Gold settings. The slightly abstract design is most appealing and what is that curled central Gold piece doing? Was it a Posy Holder? If so, that would explain the patent number on the reverse of the abdomen, DES PAT. 139127 14k and an Acorn mark. On the reverse of the upper Pink Wing in very small print is the signature Tiffany & Co.

Antique 18 Karat Gold, Diamond, Green Garnet and Ruby Set Salamander BroochRegular price $ 15,000.00
With a line of 21 old European Diamonds mounted in Platinum and with Gold set faceted Ruby Eyes and an abundance of Green Demantoid Garnets. The Salamander is beautifully made, with a writhing body and crawling rear legs which give it a great illusion of movement, undoubtedly the best model I have seen. The Salamander has been revered for thousands of years for its ability to regrow severed limbs, something scientists are attempting to trace the gene which enables this, in order to greatly help we humans, so wearing a Salamander is more symbolic than just wearing a very pretty Jewel.
