Victorian Revivalist Lapis Lazuli Gold Bula Locket Pendant Necklace
On the reverse are the letters AEI in relief, which is a Latin abbreviation. The pendant opens to reveal a locket in which Roman girls two thousand years ago, carried magical items to bring good fortune in marriage. The generous bale allows this pendant to be worn with a thick cord. This interesting antique was made in Italy in circa 1860 and is in good condition and mounted with a fine Lapis Lazuli cabochon.
